Generous Fiction is the anti-poetry, poetry book. Each poem has its own descriptive reason why it was written, which gives the reader insight into the creative, and sometimes amusing, if not downright weird, process of writing poetry. Some poems are the result of enlightened moments, boredom, a job interview gone wrong, or too much Long Island Iced Tea. After all, the best poetry reflects real life.

Reviews

I don't know of any other poet that is as upfront with his words as Michael Cervin!  He is not one that will be offended if  you "don't like it" or if you get something totally difference from the piece than was intended by him.  In fact, after reading the introduction of "Generous Fiction" I was clear that I was on my own and he wasn't about to guide me in my thoughts.

This book is unique.  After each piece of poetry Cervin explains what he was doing, thinking, or being at the time he wrote it.  I like that.

I read a lot of poetry and I have to say this is one book that ranks on the top of the list for me.  Cervin writes from outside the box - that's my kind of poet!
