Wayne Perry has a proven track record of creating big things from nothing. In 1994 he was a self defense instructor teaching Oprah Winfrey to use police pepper spray on her show. Thanks to that appearance, he accidentally discovered hot peppers could effectively relieve headaches and sinus problems. He spent the next year developing the world's 1st hot pepper nasal spray. In 2003, Perry launched Sinus Buster using his last $350 and within five years he built a million dollar brand that's sold in thousands of stores including Walgreens, Riteaid, CVS and many more.
In this book, Wayne shares lessons and inspirational messages to help aspiring entrepreneurs achieve success. He also shares his personal successes and failures while presenting numerous tips to ignite and sustain entrepreneurial success on a working class budget.
In chapter one, Perry outlines his entrepreneurial start from the worng side of the tracks while working for his drug-dealing career criminal father during the 1980s. Wayne used that experience of conducting illegal business to transition into legal avenues of creating entrepreneurial wealth. This gripping real life story takes readers from the gritty underbelly of life on the streets to streetwise tips anyone can use to create something big from nothing. Perry's story was recently featured in Donny Deustch's new book, "The Big Idea".
Whether you're looking to create a new product or expand an existing business, this book is filled with important lessons all aspiring entrepreneurs should know.
Straight from the start this book was captivating as it is so different than traditional business books. I have to admit that the title and the cover graphic seemed boring boring but it only took the first sentence to get completely engrossed in this book and follow Wayne on journey from jail to becoming a millionaire. As I read I couldn't help but think that as well as being an entrepreneur, his personal journey and real life approach to business would make an interesting radio show as his writing style reflects his street-smart, tough, honest attitude.
The book was a very easy read and full of practical business ideas. Anyonne who comes from a non-professional background and is facing have to build their business the "hard" way (no money, no connections, no experience) should read this book. It will encourage you, inspire and and give you lots of great ideas for starting small but ending big!
