Reviewer's Questions and Answers Q&A on providing reviews
Author & Publisher Questions and Answers Q&A on getting your books reviewed
Definately not! If you want to communicate with the reviewer after your review is posted please do so by contacting us. We will forward your email to the reviewer. However, if you would like to send a hand-written thank you note you may do so to the same address you sent the book to.
Yes, of course! We give you permission to use the review in whole or excerpts of. But, please, be sure to give credit to the reviewer and ReviewTheBook.com.
Our reviewers are avid readers. They have to apply and become members before they can review books through ReviewTheBook.com. We initially charge them a membership fee to weed out those that only want free books. The reviewers have to be serious about reviewing books. Please read the reviewer guidelines and contact us and we will remove it.

To cover the costs of website maintenance and other overhead like paying our staff, we need to charge a nominal administration fee. The fee is: 1 book title: $25.00 5 book titles: $100.00 10 book titles: $150.00 Prepayment is necessary but you can submit one book at a time and at any time. Publishers can purchase a package for 10 book titles for a savings and can submit the books as they are published. The fee is in no way purchasing a book review. The reviewers are not paid to review your book. We repeat, the fee is to cover our administration costs only.
Oh yikes, how we'd love to do all this for free! However, in order to provide this service to you, we need to pay our staff. We've tried to convince them to work for free but it just isn't happening. Besides paying staff we also have website maintenace, and oh yes, we have to pay for the electricity to plug the computer into. This is in no way paying for a book review! It's paying us to do the processing, that's all.
We really want to guarantee you will receive 5 reviews from 5 different reviewers and posted on at least 10 different sites. That is our intent. However, as you know we are dealing with humans and sometimes their intent isn't the same as ours, or they start out with a good intent and something happens along the way so they don't follow through. We are going to monitor the best we could and bug the reviewers if they don't get the reviews in a timely fashion. We also want to be clear that we don't guarantee you will get reviews. We do not assign books to the reviewers; they choose the books they want to read/review. If you haven't received a review within a few months of listing we suggest you revisit your synopsis. Maybe it just doesn't have the hook needed to entice a potential reader. If a defamatory review is posted, we will promptly remove it. Please see our terms of use.
We want to be clear that we do not guarantee a positive review. In no way will we tell the reviewer what to write. Oh my, that would be so unethical. Also, we can't guarantee a 5 star review on Amazon. More unethical stuff. We ask the reviewer to give their own personal thoughts and opinions of what they read. Remember, it may not be exactly what you wanted or expected but it will be from your reading audience. Honest reviews go much further with the readers than a fluffy, raving review.

All titles sent to the reviewers become the property of the reviewer. They may keep it, donate it, pass it on, or sell it once it is read/reviewed. DO NOT deface the book by stamping "review copy" on it. A better idea is to autograph it to the reviewer; that's a sure way they will keep it. If the reviewers sell the book, remember it's their only compensation for the time and effort they put into giving you a review and posting it on 10 different sites.
The reviewers have a total of 3 weeks from the time they receive the book to the time they are required to post the review on all 10 sites. It is highly recommended you purchase a tracking number so you know when they receive the book. Please don't send us an email asking if the book was received because we really wouldn't know.
Books are instantly posted when you complete the posting form, preview your posting, and confirm it to post it to the site. When the reviewer chooses your book you will be sent an email giving you the name/address of the reviewer. The reviewer will contact you when the review is posted so please be sure to include your contact information. That means your email address. Repeat, email address. If you don't include your email address the reviewer will have no way of contacting you.
If you see extraneous code in your posting and you are using a word processor like Microsoft Word, please be aware that sometimes the word processor adds additional markup comments and styling. Review The Book postings do not allow additional HTML markup except by using the inline rich text editor on the posting form. To fix it, just open up a text editor like Notepad, paste your text there, remove any extraneous comments or styling, and paste your clean text on the site.
