Guidelines for submitting books for review
Please read these guidelines completely before requesting a review or signing up.
How does the process work? You will list your book title with ReviewTheBook.com using our easy listing process. Once the listing is complete your title will become available for the reviewers to choose. When chosen, an email will be sent to you giving you the title of the book requested as well as the name/address of the reviewer. Please send the title promptly.
Who are the reviewers?
Our reviewers are avid readers. They have to apply and become members before they can review books through ReviewTheBook.com. We initially charge them a deposit to weed out those that only want free books. The reviewers have to be serious about reviewing books. Please read the reviewer guidelines and terms of use agreement to learn more about how their process works.
Also, keep in mind the reviewers give personal opinions of what they read. Please consider them as your reading audience because they will give their own honest and fair assessment of your work. We do not edit their reviews, nor do we tell them what to write. In the event of a defamatory review we will remove it. Please contact us if this happens.
Contacting the Reviewers
It is NOT okay to contact the reviewers directly after they post the review so don't even bother looking for their phone number. (Contacting them directly may cause us to remove your listing and review.) We would be happy to forward a message to the reviewer so send it to us. If you would like to write the reviewer a thank-you note, it's okay to send it to the address you sent the book to. However, this is just a thank-you note. If you have questions or issues with the review, the communication MUST go through us.
Also, it is NOT okay to contact the reviewer prior to sending the book he or she requested asking that if the Amazon rating is less than a 4 or 5 not to post it. You can't control what your reading audience gets out of the book, nor is it ethical to tell the reviewer they can only post a 4 or 5 star review. Besides, it's really putting the reviewer on the spot to give you a raving review. Not fair at all, and unethical.
Going against this policy may cause us to remove your listing and review, with no refund for the listing.
You will potentially get as many as five different reviews (from five different reviewers.)
Each reviewer, using their own name will place the review on at least 10 different sites. (Yes!! That's 50 postings on the www.)
The mandatory sites are:
· Flapjacket.com (children/teen/ya only)
· IJustFinishedReading.Tribe.net
· Reviewer's Blog of Choice
· Reviewer's Personal Blog
· Reviewer's Twitter Account

We will review all categories except those with racist themes or pornography. The books must have a copyright date of 2007 or later and must be in the English language. If you have a book that was published prior to 2007 but is still a hot seller, we will consider the listing. Please contact us giving us the details.
Reviews of manuscripts, ARCs, or galleys
We do not review manuscripts, ARCs, or galleys. For reviews of these we suggest you contact www.readerviews.com

Administration Fees
To cover the costs of website maintenance and other overhead like paying our staff, we need to charge a nominal administration fee. The fee is:
1 book title: $25.00
5 book titles: $100
10 book titles: $150
Prepayment is necessary but you can submit one book at a time and at any time. Publishers can purchase a package for 5 or10 book titles and can submit the books as they are published. There is no expiration date.
The fee is in no way purchasing a review. The reviewers are not paid to review your book. We repeat, the fee is to cover our administration costs only.
There is more information on FAQ. Please read them so you don't have to email us for answers to your questions. They've probably been answered already.
